Friday Favorites

Oh Hey, It's FRIDAY!!!
And just like every Friday, I'm linking up to share the things that I am LOVING this week!

FULLER HOUSE
Oh Em Gee!  Today is the day!!!  Fuller House is here!!!  If you are looking for me this weekend, I will be binge watching Fuller House!  And I will be making John watch it with me.  I grew up watching Full House and now I still watch the reruns at night when they're one.  I love the fact that my own girls will get to grow up with this show!
And let's be honest, Uncle Jesse is still looking pretty good!

Blakely's First Dance Costume
I walked into dance class with B on Wednesday and their recital outfits had come in!  We got to go in the room and try them on the girls (just to make sure everything fit).  I'm pretty sure Blakely has been waiting for this day since Lacie got her first recital outfit last year!  She was so excited.  She was even more excited that her costume looks like Cinderella in her mind!  I can't even stand the cuteness!

Neiman Marcus Bars
I made a new Neiman Marcus Bar recipe for Lacie's half birthday and I shared it on the blog earlier this week!  These may just be my favorite of all the Neiman Marcus Bar recipes!  Seriously the Double Chocolate Flavor is Great!  You can check out the recipe here!

If chocolate isn't your thing, try my Red Velvet Neiman Marcus Bars

These ones are really great for Easter!  They're a Neiman Marcus Bar version of the Chocolate Coconut Eggs!

St. Paddy's Day
I love celebrating St. Paddy's Day with the kids!  I always buy them cute shirts or outfits to wear the whole month of March!  How fun are these shirts?  I like them because they're a bit different from all of the other St. Paddy's Day gear!

I also love these shirts that my Aunt got the girls this year!
And I love these for the baby!

What's Up Wednesday

It's the last Wednesday of February, which is kind of hard to believe!  Today I am linking up to share my monthly What's Up Wednesday post!

I'm answering these questions:

What We're Eating This Week

What I'm Reminiscing About
Lacie had Kindergarten Registration last week!
I mean how is she this big?!?

So of course, I am reminiscing about her being this little:
Don't blink Mamas because it goes by too fast!

What I'm Loving
My brand new recipe for Double Chocolate Neiman Marcus Bars.
They are seriously amazing!  And I'm not just saying that!  It's definitely time to make some more Neiman Marcus Bars...I'm thinking of some fun spring flavors now!

What We've Been Up To
We've been busy!  Preschool, dance class, playdates, etc.
And lots and lots of family time!

What I'm Dreading
The only thing I dread about Spring is John's overtime starting back up with spring sports.  I hate when he works late every night!

What I'm Working On
A few new recipes for seasonal recipes and recipes for the upcoming holidays!!!  I can't wait to share them on the blog!

What I'm Excited About
Spring!  I cannot wait for nice weather and warmer weather.  The winter always feels so much longer than the other seasons, mostly because we are stuck inside the house and it gets dark super early everyday!  But last weekend we got a little taste of spring weather and spent a ton of time outside which was great for everyone, especially Blakely.  She is my kid who needs the outside time the most!

What I'm Watching/Reading
I am still watching all the same shows that I was last month - The Bachelor, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Vanderpump Rules!
And two of my other favorite shows are back!!!
Grey's and Scandal!

I didn't read a new book this month (it was just too busy) but I am reading Jesus Calling, which is a daily devotional.  I read it every morning, and my day is always much better when I've had a few quiet moments with this book!

What I'm Listening To
BRUCE!
I'm going to be totally honest, with the exception of the months of November and December, I am always listening to Bruce!

What I'm Wearing
I am still wearing a ton of Lularoe Leggings!  I found the Disney Roses, which of course made me super happy!

And when I wear leggings, I love to pair them with a long tunic style shirt!  A few that I am loving are:

What I'm Doing This Weekend
Hopefully a little bit of baking!
Some more outside time!
And a mini date with my hubby <3

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month
St Paddy's Day
Easter
and
SPRING

What Else Is New
Paisley turns 15 months old in 2 weeks.  Which is of course crazy because I just had her yesterday!  It's also the age Lacie was when B was born...again crazy!
Sometimes she seems so big...but then I try to make her give up her morning nap and she falls asleep on me mid-morning and she's still my baby.  Paisley has always loved sleeping on me!

What Is Your Favorite Easter Tradition
I'll be 100% honest, Easter was never my favorite of the holidays growing up.  But now having the kids, I love it!  I think doing an Easter Egg Hunt and having everyone over to the house for brunch are my two favorite traditions!

Double Chocolate Neiman Marcus Bars

Last week, Lacie celebrated her half birthday!  She is now officially 4 1/2!  In case you missed it, you can read that post here!

Well Lacie requested a treat for her half birthday, and she always love love loves my Neiman Marcus Bars!  The Red Velvet and Lemon are two of her favorite.  So I decided it would be fun to make a new Neiman Marcus bar recipe!  And what is better than chocolate?!?  DOUBLE CHOCOLATE!

These are my new favorite Neiman Marcus Bar!  Seriously they are so so so good!

And these bars are Cake Mix Recipe #60!

Your Shopping List for the Double Chocolate Neiman Marcus Bars:
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 1 stick of butter (1/2 cup), melted
  • 3 eggs
  • 8 ounce block of cream cheese, softened
  • 1 box of Confectioners Sugar (4 cups)
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Now Let's Make the Double Chocolate Neiman Marcus Bars:
  1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees and grease a 9x13 baking dish (I use nonstick spray)
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and 1 of the eggs to form a dough
  3. Press dough into the bottom of the greased baking dish
  4. In the bowl of a stand mixer, fitted with the whisk attachment, combine the cream cheese and two remaining eggs until smooth
  5. Beat in the cocoa powder until completely incorporated
  6. Add the powdered sugar and mix until smooth
  7. Pour mixture into the baking dish over top of the dough and spread into an even layer
  8. Bake for 40 minutes
  9. Remove from oven and cool for 30 minutes
  10. Place into the refrigerator and cool completely (at least 2 hours) before cutting and serving
  11. Keep leftover bars in the fridge

Mommy Mondays: Lacie's Half Birthday

In the Hilosky House, we celebrate HALF BIRTHDAYS!!!

And my oldest baby, Lacie Jane, turned four and a half on Friday!

4 1/2

Crazy.

We always celebrate by singing "Happy Half Birthday" and having a special dessert!  Nothing big.  Just fun and simple.  I hope they will always remember that we had this fun tradition while they were growing up!

Friday was actually a SUPER CRAZY day for us.  Lacie had preschool, lunch bunch, and dance class.  So we didn't get to really celebrate but she did get 4 1/2 cookies with whipped cream!

On Saturday we really celebrated with Double Chocolate Neiman Marcus Bars (recipe coming tomorrow) and candles!

And now I must take the mandatory trip down memory lane to remember all of Lacie's half birthdays!

4 1/2

3 1/2

2 1/2

1 1/2

The first 1/2 birthday!
6 months!

Friday Favorites

It's Friday
Friday
FRIDAY!

This week went by so fast...probably because it was a short week!

Today I am linking up to bring you what I'm loving this week!

Lacie's Kindergarten Registration
I may be an emotional wreck over this, but it is still one of my FAVORITES from this week!  Lacie had Kindergarten Registration yesterday, and she rocked it!  She has come such a long way since starting preschool in September!

Lacie's Half Birthday
Speaking of Lacie, today my oldest baby turns 4 1/2!!!!  And yes we celebrate half birthdays in our house!  It's a fun tradition that I started when Lacie was just 6 months old and it is something I have continued with all three girls.  Just for fun, Blakely's half birthday falls on our wedding anniversary and Paisley's half birthday falls on our first date anniversary!

The Honest Company
I'm an Honest Company Ambassador, and I've blogged before about how much I love their products!  We use them every.single.day.  I use all their cleaning products - the multi surface cleaner and the bathroom cleaners are my favorite!  I use all of their bath and body products on the kids!  Well they just came out with some awesome new stuff!  I've been saying for awhile now that I wish they would expand their scents beyond the sweet orange and vanilla...well they did!  So of course I had to scoop up some lavender products and they did not disappoint!

Date Day
Sunday was Valentine's Day and John and I got out of the house without our kids...for almost 4 whole hours!!!  I love my girls but I love spending time with my hubby alone!  We definitely needed this date!  In case you forgot, one of my New Year's Resolutions was to go on at least two dates every month!  All we really did was go out to lunch, grab a Starbucks, and do our weekly food shopping...but it was perfect!
