Blakely's I don't care that I have Chicken Pox face!
Last week, I shared that I was thankful for having the chicken pox over the stomach virus. In my mind, there is nothing worse than a stomach virus. And unlike the Pox, the stomach virus is sure to be passed to each and every family member living in this house and probably a few family members outside of the house as well! Ugh. Well the chicken pox also brought one more positive change to the Hilosky House...
We have a potty trained princess!!! Lacie is officially daytime potty trained. Since we have been quarantined to our home due to the pox, John and I thought it would be a great time to just put some underwear on Lacie and GO FOR IT! We did! We honestly were like "Hey, you're going to wear underwear today and start using the potty!" And guess what?!? It has worked out so well for us! She is still not nighttime potty trained, but I am not worrying about that anytime in the near future. I know that some parents really focus on their child being day and night trained but here's why I'm not:
- Lacie sleeps from 7:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. If you don't want to do the math that is 12 1/2 hours of beautiful, uninterrupted sleep. It keeps Lacie healthy and happy. I really don't want her to start having to wake up in the night to use the bathroom...and I certainly can't expect her to hold it that long (I mean I couldn't - could you?)
- Lacie still sleeps in a crib. I am not going to take her out of that crib until absolutely necessary. She loves it! I love that she stays in one place! I love that her stuffed animals don't fall out of it! In order for me to nighttime train Lacie, I would have to take her out of the crib. And I am keeping her in there as long as possible!
- I am still buying diapers for Blakely (and I will be doing so for quite awhile)...so I don't mind just putting one on Lacie when she is sleeping. It is easier than having to wash sheets and blankets and
a millionfive stuffed animals everyday!
The potty training went so smoothly in our house that I don't even have any funny stories to share...yet! What are some of your potty training tips and tricks and stories?!?
Thanks for the post. Reading the experiences of other parents is very helpful as we potty train our son.

You're welcome Lori! I agree with you, I always love to hear about the experiences of other parents, especially with things like potty training!
