Disney World Day 1

We're Back From Disney!!!  We truly had the most wonderful and magical vacation!  I cannot wait to share all of the details with my readers!  I thought it would be fun to do a Day by Day recap of the trip!

Day 1 - Saturday November 14th - Travel Day

John and I woke the kids up at 6am knowing that we needed to be out the door at 6:15am in order to arrive at the airport by 7am.  This may not sound early to some but it is for our kids.  I have trouble waking Lacie up for school at 7:30...

But we got out the door on time!  Paisley promptly went right back to sleep in her carseat!

I sat next to Lacie in the way back of the minivan so that there was room for all of our luggage!

My Dad drove us to the airport and dropped us off outside the gate.  We proceeded to head inside with 3 kids, one stroller, 3 large suitcases, 4 carry-on suitcases, 2 backpacks, 1 purse, and 1 diaper bag.  It was quite a funny picture.  I told Lacie and Blakely they needed to be responsible for their own bags!  And they rolled their suitcases all through the entire airport, making it look like something we do all the time rather than their first trip!

Next we had to get through security, which I was dreading.  But I have to say, the airport took us right up to the front of the line because we had so many kids and it was a pretty easy process (other than the fact that I had to take apart the stroller to make it fit through the scanner with our bags).

We got to our gate and settled in for the wait before boarding and the girls got breakfast!  Then everyone went potty and Paisley got a fresh diaper.  All of this took awhile and made the wait to board the plane go by fast.

At 9am we boarded the plane and got ready for take off.  This was the girls first flight ever!  Somehow I got the privilege of sitting with all three of them for take off...

Paisley fussed a bit but as soon as we got all the way in the air she put her head on me and fell asleep.  Then I set the older girls up with their Kindles and headphones!

The Kindles kept them busy for awhile.  Then they got snacks, did some coloring, and played musical seats to sit with Grandmom, Grandpop, and Uncle Matt!

Paisley woke up and ate an entire canister of Puffs to pass the time!

The last 30 minutes of the flight were a bit tough and Blakely cried a bit saying that her ears hurt because of the pressure.  Once we landed, we headed right for Disney's Magical Express!  This is a bus ride to the hotel - riding the bus was another first for the girls!

After another 45 minutes of travel, we finally arrived at our hotel - Disney's Polynesian Resort!  It was beautiful!

Paisley fell asleep in the stroller as soon as we stepped off the bus.

We headed straight to our rooms, which were ready early!  We unpacked a few things and got to visit with John's aunt, uncle, and cousins who drove to the resort from where they live in Florida!

We had a few hours before dinner so I took the older girls to the pool!  The Polynesian has an awesome kids pool with slides.  The girls LOVED it!

After spending an hour in the pool, we ran back to the rooms for a quick bath and said goodbye to Aunt Patty, Uncle Ken, Jessie, and Luke.

Then we got dressed in our Luau gear and headed to Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show!  This was right at the Polynesian!

We all got leis and posed for a group shot!

As soon as we were seated, the chef came right out to the table to talk about Lacie's peanut allergy.  She told me what was safe for her to eat!  She could eat everything except the bread - and they brought her a peanut free roll instead!  She loved the food and it was so nice to know how well trained and caring the chefs are in Disney!

Before our trip, I had specially ordered a birthday cake for Blakely.  All she wanted was a yellow cake! So that is what she got!  Happy 3rd Birthday Blakely Hope!

Paisley started to get fussy, and I could tell she was over tired from the day, so I left the show a bit early to get her to bed.  Then as soon as the girls got back from the rest of the show, they went right to bed too!  This was another first - sleeping in a hotel bed...together!  At home, Blakely is still in a crib.  Luckily, the Polynesian had bed rails for us to put on the bed!  They had a bit of a hard time going right to sleep the first night but they were so tired for the rest of the trip that we didn't have any more issues!

Come back tomorrow for my recap of Disney Day 2 - Magic Kingdom!

  1. Looks like a great first day! My daughter has a gluten intolerance so I always appreciate how amazing they are with allergies there as well. They always have options for her and she never feels left out :)

  2. Almost every girl loves her flip flops - they're so cheap, cool and comfortable, and now come in a huge variety of styles and colors to match every outfit. However, doctors have become increasingly worried about the dangers of women wearing flip flops because of the number of related injuries they are now seeing. I find this website for Most Comfortable Flip Flops. If you want you can visit this site.
