Mommy Mondays: More Milk Cookies

Alright Mamas, never in my life did I think I would be creating this post.  After not breastfeeding Lacie and giving up in the hospital with Blakely - I was determined to nurse Paisley!  My husband actually laughed at me when I said I was really going to do it this time!  In order to not feel intimidated or drive myself crazy, I set little goals...make it to one week, one month, two months.  My next goal is to exclusively breastfeed until 4 months!  Hopefully I will be able to set a goal of six months after that!

Here's something that no one tells you - breastfeeding is hard and not really all that natural (at least not for me).  I don't have the best milk supply and I feel like I have to work super hard to make enough milk, which could be due to the fact that Paisley is a fairly lazy eater whether she's nursing or drinking a bottle that I've pumped.  She does not eagerly gulp down her feedings like my other two - who were quite the chunky babies!

So when shopping in the aisles of Wegmans, I came across a Lactation Cookie that was supposed to help boost supply.  I bought two and ate them and I did feel like I had a better supply that day.  These cookies cost $1.99 per cookie...CRAZY right?!?!  I could make cookies with the same key ingredients!

I made these cookies!  Not only do they taste amazing but they definitely boosted my supply!  Eating 3 cookies per day helped me pump enough milk to create an emergency freezer stash while keeping Paisley fed and happy!!!
