Blair's Banana Bread

My sweet Mama friend Amanda's youngest daughter just turned one!  Her birthday party was a breakfast celebration - and who doesn't love breakfast food!  Breakfast is my favorite!  I offered to make something, and I mixed and matched my double chocolate banana bread to come up with this fantastic Banana Bread, which I names Blair's Banana Bread in honor of the birthday girl!

This recipe is simple and delicious!  It also has only 5 ingredients and is Cake Mix Recipe #56!

Your Shopping List for Blair's Banana Bread:
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed with a fork
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup oil - any kind of veggie oil
  • 1 bag mini chocolate chips

Now Let's Make Blair's Banana Bread:
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease two 8x4 (one pound) loaf pans
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, fitted with the whisk attachment, add your cake mix, bananas, eggs, and oil
  3. Beat on low speed until just combined
  4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and beat on low speed again for 30 seconds
  5. Fold in your mini chocolate chips
  6. Divide batter evenly between the two prepared loaf pans
  7. Bake in preheated oven for 40 - 45 minutes - until a toothpick inserted comes out clean or with only a few crumbs
  8. Allow bread to cool in pans for 10 minutes
  9. Turn out onto cooling racks and allow bread to cool completely before cutting and/or storing

To make this bread you need two 1pound loaf pans like these:

Mommy Mondays: Paisley Jean is 10 Months Old

Well somehow this whirlwind of a first year has landed us at the 10 month mark yesterday!  Sweet little Paisley has been a part of our lives for 10 months!  Although it feels like she's always been here!

At Ten Months Old Paisley:
*says Mama, Dada, Pop-Pop, baba, bebe, kick, I Love You, more, and imitates sounds
*blows kisses
*waves
*walks with a push toy
*cruises the furniture
*claps
*plays peek-a-boo
*does "So Big"
*feeds herself

Paisley Loves:
*Elmo (and all of the Sesame Street characters)
*taking walks outside
*playing peek a boo
*her pacifiers
*eating - especially feeding herself
*her sisters, especially Blakely - they have a special bond
*musical toys - especially the singing Elsa dolls

Paisley Hates:
*getting water poured on her head at bath time (this is a new fear - she used to love it)
*getting her diaper changed

Here is a side by side of all three girls at 10 months!  Here are my observations:

1. Blakely was the biggest, Paisley is the smallest

2. Lacie had the most hair

3. You can't tell from the pictures, but Lacie and Blakely had their bottom two and top two teeth - Paisley only has her bottom two

4. Blakely and Paisley look just alike while Lacie has a different look

5. Blakely was already walking at this age

6. Lacie was the most attached to the bottle at this point - drinking 24 ounces a day

7. Paisley says the most words at this age

8. Paisley is the only baby still taking 2 naps a day at 10 months

Friday Favorites

Happy Happy Friday!  These week felt longggg.  So I am very happy to have reached the weekend!

Today I am linking up over at Momfessionals to bring you some of my favorites from the week!

New York Giants

In our house we are Yankee Fans and Giants Fans.  Now I am a Yankee fan first because that's what I grew up with.  John is a Giants fan first because he grew up in a football house!  Even though Life Is Better In Pink at the Hiloskys, we are still attempting to raise our girls with a basic knowledge of sports!  And on Sundays we watch football with Daddy!

How cute are these New York Giants shirts?!?  It's hard to find cute football stuff, especially for girls!
Clarisonic
For my 30th Birthday I treated myself to a Clarisonic. I always read about other Mom Bloggers who love this product, so I've had my eye on it for awhile. They're a little pricey though so it took me awhile to jump on the bandwagon. But I figured 30 was as good of a year as any to start taking better care of my skin. I've been using this consistently every night now for a month, and I am starting to see big changes in my skin. I am not breaking out on my forehead at all anymore. Any other blemishes that I have gotten come to the surface faster than they used to (if that makes sense) and they also clear up in a much shorter time frame (2-3 days rather than a week or longer).

Obviously I got it in PINK!  Electric Pink to be specific!
We are already a month into pumpkin season, but I thought now was a great time to reshare my favorite pumpkin recipe!  It's a super simple cake mix recipe and it's the best pumpkin cake ever!  You need this pumpkin cake in your fall recipe box!

DISNEY

It's almost here!  You can probably expect to hear a lot about our trip in the upcoming weeks!  The girls are getting excited and so is their Mama.  I'm working on gathering all of the Disney inspired clothing that we own and putting it aside for packing!  How sweet are these mermaid dresses that my MIL got the girls!  They didn't want to take them off!

As I mentioned before, I am linking up my Friday Favorites here!

Mommy Mondays: Two Ballerinas

Last year, I posted a ton about Lacie starting dance classes!  Well this year, she is back and is doing both ballet and tap!  Someone else got to start dance - Blakely!  She is in the Tiny Tot class, which was the class Lacie was in last year!  For an entire year, Blakely watched while Lacie got to go to dance every Wednesday night.  You could say she was a bit jealous.  Well this year it was finally her turn!  And she was excited!!!  I was a bit nervous - I didn't know if she would really love it or if she just wanted to do what Lacie was doing.  I also didn't think she understood that she would go by herself - not at the same time as Lacie (because of course Lacie is in the preschool class now).  Well I couldn't have been more wrong!  My shy, sweet Blakely love love loves dance class!  She goes in the studio every week and participates fully in the class!  Now we have two dancers!!!

At the end of August, the girls got fitted for their dance shoes!

Blakely's First Pair of Ballet Slippers!

Lacie's First Pair of Tap Shoes!

Blakely trying on her tutus for dance!  Pink and Black!

Lacie's First Day of Dance - 9/11/15

Blakely's First Day of Dance - 9/16/15

Here's a Side by Side of Lacie and Blakely from their very first day of dance!  Lacie had just turned three and Blakely will be three in November!

We love this Capezio Tutu that comes in both black and pink.

The girls have this tutu in both black and pink. It's their favorite one to wear!

We also love the Bloch Tights in Pink! They don't sag and they are very durable. Lacie's tights lasted through an entire year of dance!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!  And Happy October!  I love this month - in fact it might be my favorite month of the entire year!

Today I am linking up with Momfessionals, A Little Bit of Everything, and Grace and Love to bring you my Friday Favorites!

Also linking up at September Farm to bring you Oh Hey Friday!

Paisley's First Halloween
One of my favorite things about the month of October is Halloween!  I am especially excited for Halloween this year because Lacie and Blakely are old enough to be really really excited about it.  Also it's Paisley's First Halloween!  She only has two "first" holidays left - Halloween and Thanksgiving!

Bibdanas
It's a bib and a bandana - it's a Bibdana!
A sweet Mama friend of mine makes and sells these sweet bibdanas in her Etsy shop - along with some adorable pacifier clips!
Paisley now has her bottom two teeth but the top two are about to break through - which means she is a drooling machine!  And putting one of these bibdanas on her keeps her dry while looking adorable - way cuter than a regular bib!
Check out her Etsy Shop at Craft Courtney 101

Bringing Up Bebe
I shared in my What's Up Wednesday post but I'm finally reading a book.  A parenting book.  Do you know that I never ever read any other parenting books.  I tried.  I tried really hard when I had Lacie.  I starting The Happiest Baby on the Block and What to Expect the First Year.  But they just did not hold my interest.  Bringing Up Bebe is my type of book - I'm already halfway through!  It jives with my parenting style.  Plus I love anything French - I studied it for six years in high school and college!

Fall Nail Polish
I always love sharing nail polish colors during my Friday Favorites!  My readers must love nail polish as much as me because if I ever post a picture of my nails without mentioning the color, someone always emails and asks!

This week I'm wearing Essie's Double Breasted Jacket

I always paint my nails at least once a week - sometimes twice!  My nails take a beating with all the diaper changing and hand washing and cooking and dishes and cleaning - so I like to make an effort to keep them looking nice!

Another Fall Favorite is Essie's Bahama Mama.  I know the name screams summer but the color is all Fall!

Louisville Shirts
John went on a trip with his Dad and Brother in September. This is the third time they've taken a trip for my Father In Laws Navy Reunion. I hate when John goes away but I think it's such great Father/Son bonding! Plus John always brings home shirts for us!

The girls got Kentucky Derby Shirts!

I got a Louisville Slugger Shirt!

I am wearing this shirt with my very favorite Hue Leggings!  If you don't own these leggings yet, it is a great time to get them because they're on sale (and ship for free) at Nordstrom!

What are your favorites this week
